There’s a certain kind of magic that happens when two people plan a wedding that’s completely, unapologetically them. Katie and Eric’s day at Newport Vineyards was just that—intentional, down-to-earth, and full of heart. As a documentary photographer, I’m always looking for the story beneath the surface—and this one was a joy to tell.
Katie began the day at a waterfront Airbnb, surrounded by calm vibes, soft morning light, and her closest people. One especially touching moment was her first look with her dad and brothers, which brought more than a few happy tears.
Meanwhile, Eric was getting ready to marry the love of his life. The couple shared their first look at Newport Vineyards, and it was one of those moments where everything else just fades away. Just the two of them, surrounded by nature, sunshine, and that kind of deep-in-your-bones love.
The weather was picture-perfect (thank you, late August), and the vineyard provided a dreamy, elegant backdrop without ever feeling stuffy or overdone. I’ll just say it: this venue is pure gold. Grapevines, warm golden hour light, a reception room that manages to be cozy – but also large enough for a big wedding – and just enough breeze all around to keep it romantic (and surprisingly NOT sweaty).
Katie and Eric’s ceremony was filled with emotion and intention—every word chosen carefully. Eric’s dad traveled from England to be there, adding even more meaning to an already beautiful celebration. From start to finish, you could feel how much thought they put into every choice—not in a Pinterest-perfect way, but in a way that truly honored who they are and what they value.
The reception? A total vibe. The decor was simple and elegant, letting the vineyard and late summer light do the heavy lifting. Romantic florals by Les Isle Rose, flickering candles—it all came together effortlessly. And the dance floor? Absolute chaos—in the best way. DJ Wiley kept the energy high all night long.
One of my favorite parts of the day? The way Katie and Eric leaned into being themselves. They weren’t afraid to laugh, to cry, to be a little goofy—and their joy was contagious. Katie and Eric, thank you for trusting me to document your day with honesty and heart. You made every guest feel like family, and every moment felt like magic.
