Katie and Arthur’s Aldrich Mansion wedding was one of those days that somehow felt deeply romantic and wildly celebratory — the kind of wedding where you feel the love in every room and then immediately find yourself on the dance floor wondering how it got this fun this fast.
Set against the grandeur of Aldrich Mansion, their day blended timeless elegance with personal, creative touches that felt unmistakably them. Katie and Arthur live in Boston, but their story — and their guest list — spans far beyond New England. Family and friends traveled from near and far, gathering not just to witness a marriage, but to celebrate the warmth, generosity, and connection these two bring into every space they occupy.
From the start, the vibe was relaxed and joyful. I arrived at the Airbnb in West Warwick to photograph details and getting ready moments — earrings, a prayer book, bouquet details. One of my favorite personal touches of the day: Arthur’s shoes. Yes, shoes. Arthur, a business and creative consultant from a deeply musical family, made his own loafers for the wedding, adorned with Katie’s name. Thoughtful, artistic, and incredibly cool — a perfect snapshot of who he is.
Katie, originally from Texas and now a nurse practitioner in Boston, was calm, radiant, and surrounded by bridesfolk who clearly adore her. Once everyone headed to Aldrich Mansion, the day flowed beautifully. Katie slipped into her dress, and moments later, she and Arthur shared a quiet first look on the mansion stairs before heading outside for portraits. These were the kinds of moments I love as a documentary wedding photographer — real reactions, easy laughter, and space to just be together before the celebration began.
The ceremony took place at 4pm and felt heartfelt and grounding, with the mansion’s architecture providing a stunning, classic backdrop. Afterward, we snuck away for sunset photos — chapel steps, the front of the mansion, and out back with the water behind them — before Katie and Arthur joined cocktail hour already glowing.
And then came the reception… which also doubled as a massive birthday party. Katie and Arthur chose their wedding date because it was both of their 30th birthdays, and the energy reflected that immediately. The introductions, first dance, toasts, cake cutting, and parent dances flowed seamlessly into a packed dance floor. Clockwork Boston kept the party going, and it truly felt like everyone in the room was exactly where they wanted to be.
Romantic, rockin’, and full of intention — this Aldrich Mansion wedding was a perfect example of how a classic New England venue can host a celebration that’s equal parts elegant and wildly fun.
