If there’s one thing that can make a beautiful wedding even better, it’s a dog in a bow tie. (This is just a fact. I don’t make the rules.)
Juliet and Marko’s March wedding at Crestwood Country Club in Rehoboth, MA had all the ingredients of a perfect day: warm sunshine, sweet personal touches, wildflowers everywhere, and their rescue pup Obie stealing the show. As a documentary wedding photographer, these are the kind of days I live for—real moments, happy tears, unexpected bursts of laughter, and a dance floor full of joy.
The day started at a cozy Airbnb in Portsmouth, RI, where Juliet got ready with her close friends and family. Her dress hung in the window, the coffee was flowing, and there were happy toasts all around. One of my favorite details? Juliet wore a piece of handmade sterling silver jewelry created by her mom. (The talent in this family!)
Meanwhile, Marko and his guys were getting ready over at Crestwood—his dad (a professional dog trainer!) was there, and all the dads had sweet photos ironed onto the backs of their ties. Cue all the sentimental dad stuff. I had to fake a lens smudge to hide a tear, not gonna lie.
The first look took place outside under the most glorious late-March sun. Juliet, with her late grandfather’s signature tattooed on her shoulder, tapped Marko on the shoulder and boom: all the nerves melted away. Just two people soaking in the moment before the rest of the day swept them up.
Obie arrived just in time for photos—freshly lint-rolled and looking sharp in a custom bow tie that Juliet made to match the groomsmen. He took his seat at the front of the ceremony like an absolute pro.
Crestwood Country Club is a gorgeous blank slate—and Juliet and Marko transformed it into something totally their own. Wildflowers and vintage books decorated the ceremony altar. Champagne flutes clinked during cocktail hour, crystal candy bowls filled with Andes mints waited on every table, and picture frames of grandparents added such a heartfelt, nostalgic touch.
Guests mingled while solving Juliet’s custom crossword puzzle (appropriately titled “Sip and Solve”) and leaving messages in the guestbook. Juliet designed all the signage and stationery herself, because she’s that kind of creative powerhouse.
Their ballroom reveal before the reception was such a fun moment—a little pocket of quiet awe before the festivities kicked off. DJ Wiley brought the energy, and at 6:45, I whisked them away for sunset portraits. The light was warm, golden, and absolutely glowing—a perfect end to a beautiful day.
Every detail of this Crestwood Country Club wedding felt intentional, personal, and full of heart. From framed photos on family tables to vintage glassware and handwritten puzzles, Juliet and Marko created a celebration that felt like them—with their best furry friend right by their side.
