If you’re dreaming of a wedding that feels elegant without being stuffy, meaningful without being overly formal, and genuinely fun from start to finish, Jenny and Nathan’s Glen Manor House wedding is a perfect example. Their summer celebration blended classic Newport charm with personal, heartfelt traditions—and did it all in a way that felt relaxed, intentional, and very them.
Jenny and Nathan live in NYC, where Jenny is a doctor and Nathan is a lawyer, and from the moment I met them, it was clear they were easy-going, grounded, and refreshingly no-nonsense. That energy carried into their wedding plan. They chose not to have a wedding party to make the day more streamlined and calm for them—but they were still surrounded by friends and family at every turn. It was the best of both worlds.
The day began with getting ready at the Wyndham Newport Hotel, where Jenny spent the morning laughing with friends while I documented the quiet, in-between moments—details, candid interactions, and that subtle mix of nerves and excitement.
Their first look took place on the loggia at Glen Manor House, and it was one of those moments that felt intimate even with the grandeur of the setting. They mentioned being camera shy, but you’d never know it—once they were together, everything softened. That ease they find with each other came through in every frame, which is always my goal as a documentary wedding photographer.
The ceremony took place in the garden at Glen Manor House, with a chuppah that honored Nathan’s Jewish heritage. The weather was kind, the energy was calm and joyful, and the ceremony felt personal to them.
Cocktail hour flowed seamlessly into the reception, where guests were treated to incredible food, heartfelt toasts, and a dance floor that warmed up quickly. One of the most meaningful moments of the evening was the Chinese tea ceremony, which honored traditions from Jenny’s family. Jenny also changed into her second dress around this time—because honestly, why not?
From the Atlantic Strings setting the tone earlier in the day to Event Perfect Entertainment keeping the dance floor alive, the celebration felt joyful and well-paced from beginning to end. Jenny and Nathan were fully present, genuinely relaxed, and clearly having fun—which is always when the best candid wedding photography happens.
As a New England wedding photographer, Glen Manor House is one of those venues that offers endless visual beauty while still allowing couples to make the day their own. Jenny and Nathan did exactly that, and it was a privilege to document their wedding story.
